Neymar Want’s Move To ‘Big’ Club Like Chelsea Or Barcelona
£50m-rated Brazilian sensation Neymar has admitted that when he eventually leaves Santos he wants to join a ‘big club’ like Chelsea, Barcelona or Real Madrid.
Despite the transfer window being closed there is still plenty of gossip doing the rounds in the newspapers so we’ll keep you up-to-date with the latest transfer rumours. Today, Neymar wants a move to a ‘big’ European club.
Brazilian sensation Neymar has admitted that when he eventually leaves Santos he wants to join a ‘big club’ like Chelsea, Barcelona or Real Madrid, according to the Daily Mail.
Neymar has become one of the most sought-after forward’s in world football after bursting on to the scene in Brazil as a teenager when he made his debut for Santos as a 17-year-old and he has gone on to score 129 goals in just 209 games for the club.
Sky Sports claim that the likes of Manchester City are attempting to hijack Neymar’s proposed £50m move to Barcelona, while Chelsea and Real Madrid have also been strongly linked with a move.
The 21-year-old has now come out and said that when the time does come for him to leave Santos he wants to join a ‘big club’ like Chelsea, Barcelona or Real Madrid, but he chose to omit Man City from his list of potential destinations.
When quizzed about his future, Neymar is quoted as saying by Sky Sports:
‘I dream of playing in Europe, for a big club like Barcelona, Real Madrid and Chelsea’
However, his following comments may disappoint Blues fans as he went on to claim that his preferred destination would be Barcelona, saying it would be a dream to play alongside the likes of Messi, Xavi and Iniesta at the Nou Camp. He continued:
‘Yes, Barcelona [impress me the most], they have great players like Xavi, Iniesta, [Cesc] Fabregas and Dani Alves.
‘Who wouldn’t dream about playing alongside Messi, Xavi and [Andres] Iniesta? They’re all great players,’
‘[But] there’s no point in speculating when I’ll leave Santos. I’ll leave when I want to.
‘I don’t know where I would fit in if I joined Barca but I know my place is at Santos right now.’
The player obviously has a slight preference for Barcelona but his comments may give Chelsea encouragement to try and hijack the Catalans proposed deal to land the highly-talented Samba star. Sky Sports claim Barca have a pre-contract agreement in place that would see Neymar join then from Santos either this summer or after the 2014 World Cup for £50m, but suggest that that deal could be broken as long as compensation was paid.
