Javier Hernanez and Antonio Valencia head a list of five players who’ve been tipped to leave Manchester United this summer as boss Sir Alex Ferguson plans to overhaul his squad at the end of the season, according to Goal.com.

Despite United cruising to their 20th Premier League title the report claims that the Manchester giants will be forced to trim their squad at the end of the season after pushing the boat out to sign Robin van Persie last summer.

Goal.com claim that Ferguson’s attitude of getting RVP ‘at all costs’ will have a direct impact on their summer transfer activity and after spending the majority of his summer budget already on Wilfried Zaha in January, it’s suggested that United will now look to offload some of their fringe players to try and generate up to £60m in funds, with Javier Hernandez, Antonio Valencia, Nani, Anderson and Anders Lindegaard all expected to be made available for transfer.

Hernandez has been forced to sit on the bench for the majority of the season after struggling to displace Robin van Persie or Wayne Rooney and the report claims he’s a target for Atletico Madrid. Ecuadorian winger Valencia has had a disappointing season and has struggled to regain his best form after a series of niggling injuries.

Brazilian midfielder Anderson has failed to establish himself in Fergie’s first team and Goal suggest he’ll head back to South America while goalkeeper Linegaard is likely to be allowed to leave after recently voicing his concern over playing second fiddle to David De Gea.

It’s usually rare to dismantle a title-winning squad in this fashion but it seems that with United’s increasing debt, Ferguson may have to generate his own transfer funds this summer. While the five players listed above may not be regarded as important first-team regulars at Old Trafford, they should still be easy to offload and will command sizable transfer fees providing Fergie with money to bring in fresh blood with.
