Chelsea have moved into pole position to sign £12m-rated striker Wilfried Bony this summer after holding talks with Vitesse Arnhem officials this week, according to the Sun.

The Ivory Coast international has been in sensational form in Holland this season, scoring 26 goals in just 24 games so far to help Vitesse maintain an unlikely title push.

It seems his form hasn’t gone unnoticed in England with the Sun claiming Chelsea have hijacked West Ham’s move for the hot-shot and are now considered favourites to sign the powerful striker on a four-year contract worth £80,000-a-week at the end of the season.

The newspaper suggests that Vitesse owner Merab Jordania, managing director Erwin Kasakowski and Bony’s agent Francis Kacou were all present at Stamford Bridge on Monday night to watch Brazil’s friendly with Russia and talks over the strikers future are understood to have taken place.

Chelsea have a strong relationship with Vitesse having loaned the Dutch club seven youngsters over the past two seasons and it seems the west Londoners are keen to use that bond to land one of Europe’s most in-form strikers.

Bony was also on target for his nation during the international break, netting in a 3-0 win over Gambia, but the Sun claim the 24-year-old is desperate for a move to the Premier League and it appears that Stamford Bridge could be his most likely destination.
