Yaya-Toure

Chelsea are set to launch a bid to try and sign Manchester City midfielder Yaya Toure this summer but could face competition from Real Madrid and PSG, according to the Express.

The 29-year-old has been in excellent form for City since signing from Barcelona in 2010 and played a key role in helping Roberto Mancini’s men land their first Premier League title in 44 years last season.

However, the Express claim the Ivorian is now unsettled at the Etihad Stadium due to a stand-off over a contract extension and it’s understood the midfielder has given City an ultimatum over his future.

As the contract talks continue to stall, the more the interest in Toure grows, and the newspaper suggests that Chelsea are lining up a summer move for the powerful midfielder but the west Londoners may face competition from big-spending French outfit PSG and Spanish giants Real Madrid.

Toure has maintained his good form in recent weeks despite the uncertainty over his future but with City currently 15-points off the pace in the league they’re almost certain to relinquish their title this season and the Express claims the former Barca man may head a summer exodus alongside Carlos Tevez, Edin Dzeko and Joleon Lescott.
