Liverpool Fine Suarez For Ivanovic Bite – More To Come From The FA?

Liverpool striker Luis Suarez has been fined for biting Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic during yesterday’s 2-2 draw at Anfield, it has been confirmed today

Liverpool striker Luis Suarez has been fined for biting Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic during yesterday’s 2-2 draw at Anfield.

The Uruguayan striker set up Daniel Sturridge’s goal shortly after half time and scored the equaliser 6 minutes into injury time but hit the headlines for all the wrong reasons once again after a bizarre altercation with Ivanovic midway through the second period.

After clashing in the box, replay’s showed Suarez had bitten the Chelsea defender on the arm but escaped action as the officials had missed the incident. Liverpool condemned the players actions shortly after full-time and the striker issued an apology.

Now Suarez has revealed on his official Twitter account on Monday morning that he’s received a fine and has asked for the money to be donated to the Hillsborough Family Support Group:

The fine amount is not clear but it’s likely to be around two weeks wages. The FA are still to confirm what action they will be taking against Suarez. So far they have offered him anger management classes but a lengthy ban is expected to be handed out and it’s unlikely he’ll feature again for Liverpool this season.
