Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger sent scouts to watch Queens Park Rangers striker Loic Remy on Sunday but could face stiff competition for his signature from rivals Tottenham and Liverpool, according to the Mirror.

Remy only moved to Loftus Road from Marseille in January but despite scoring an impressive 5 goals in 11 games, the 26-year-old has been unable to save the west London club from relegation to the Championship.

Boss Harry Redknapp has already confirmed the club will try to offload their high earners this summer as they prepare for life in the second tier of English football, and the Mirror claim Remy has a clause in his contract that will allow him to leave for the same figure of £8m that QPR paid for him in January.

The report suggests that Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers is on the look-out for striking reinforcements this summer and has ear-marked Remy as a potential addition, while Spurs are understood to have the France international on their short-list of potential replacements for Emmanuel Adebayor.

However, the duo will also have to fend off interest from the Gunners with Wenger understood to have sent his scouts to run-the-rule over Remy for the second time on Sunday during a 0-0 draw with Reading at the Madejski.

A move this summer is almost a certainty for the former Nice hitman and it seems he’ll have no shortage of offers to stay in England. £8m also sounds like a good deal for a player who’s settled well in the Premier League and still has his best years ahead of him, so it’s going to be interesting to see who ends up winning the race for Remy this summer.
