Transfer News: £20m German International To Follow Mourinho To Chelsea?

Jose Mourinho plans to raid former club Real Madrid for £20m-rated midfielder Sami Khedira if he finalises his proposed return to Stamford Bridge this summer.

With the summer transfer window set to re-open, there is plenty of gossip doing the rounds in the newspapers so we’ll keep you up-to-date with the latest transfer rumours. Today, Jose Mourinho eyes Sami Khedira.

Jose Mourinho plans to raid Real Madrid for £20m-rated midfielder Sami Khedira if he finalises his proposed return to Stamford Bridge this summer, according to the Mirror.

The report claims the Blues are still locked in negotiations with Madrid officials over the Portuguese coach with a compensation package yet to be agreed, and while owner Roman Abramovich is believed to be unwilling to pay Mourinho’s £17m release clause, the west Londoners remain confident they will be able to strike a deal that will see the 50-year-old return to Stamford Bridge this summer.

It seems Mourinho is already planning for life back at Chelsea with the Mirror suggesting he has identified central midfield as an area that needs strengthening and plans to raid Madrid for Khedira as soon as his re-appointment is confirmed.

Khedira has been superb at the heart of Madrid’s midfield since making the move from Stuttgart in 2010 but may be tempted by the prospect of trying his luck in the Premier League and is one of the few Real players who are still on talking terms with Mourinho at the Bernabeu.

The newspaper claims the 26-year-old would set Chelsea back £20m, which is a reasonable price considering his vast experience and he’s coming to the peak years of his career, so I think he’d be an excellent purchase if the Blues could pull it off.

But they’ll need to resolve the managerial situation first and nothing is going to be made official until the season is over, and Chelsea still have the small matter of a Europa League final this Wednesday to deal with.

The English midfield playing is too physical and with full of power, so Remires, Khedira and Mikel behind them will be a solid one. Blue 4life.
