Arsenal welcome Wigan Athletic to the Emirates on Tuesday night for a vital clash at both the top and bottom of the Premier League table.

We head into the game sitting fifth after Tottenham’s 2-1 away win at Stoke on Sunday so victory is crucial over the Latics if we’re to maintain our hopes of qualifying for the Champions League this season. However, Wigan are also desperate for the points with Roberto Martinez knowing anything other than 3 points tomorrow will see them relegated from to the Championship, so it promises to be a nail-biting affair.

Boss Arsene Wenger has been speaking at his weekly press conference on Monday ahead of the game and gave Arsenal.com a team news and injury update with the latest on Kieran Gibbs and Lukasz Fabianski’s fitness.

Left-back Gibbs missed last weeks 1-0 win over Queens Park Rangers through injury but Wenger is confident he should be back in contention and the 22-year-old will face a late fitness test to see if he makes the squad.

Goalkeeper Fabianski is also available again after a rib injury kept him on the sidelines for four weeks, while the boss confirmed we have no fresh injury concerns heading into this vital clash. Here’s what he told the clubs official website:

on the team news…

The news is quite good, we have everyone available. Kieran Gibbs should be back too, he has a test today.

on Lukasz Fabianski…

Fabianski is available as well.

Striker Olivier Giroud is still unavailable as he completes a three-game ban following his sending off against Fulham and Abou Diaby remains on the sidelines with a long-term knee injury.

With Gibbsy back it gives the boss a bit of a dilemma over who to pick at left-back. Personally, I think Gibbs is the better option and Nacho Monreal was given a bit of a run-around by Andros Townsend last time out, but we’ll have to see who Arsene goes for.

Now we’ve seen the team news, what would be your preferred starting line-up? Leave your suggestions below.
