Chelsea Blow As Falcao Opts For Man City Move After £54m Fee Is Agreed

Chelsea look set to miss out on Radamel Falcao with the player set to join Manchester City after the former champions agreed to pay his £54m buy-out clause.

With the summer transfer window set to re-open, there is plenty of gossip doing the rounds in the newspapers so we’ll keep you up-to-date with the latest transfer rumours. Today, have Chelsea missed out on Radamel Falcao?

Colombia Radamel Falcao

Chelsea look set to miss out on long-term target Radamel Falcao with the player understood to have opted to link up with Manuel Pellegrini at Manchester City after the former champions agreed to pay his £54m buy-out clause, according to the Mirror.

The Colombian hitman has become one of the world’s hottest strikers after another impressive season at Atletico Madrid – where he’s now scored 70 goals in 90 games since joining from Porto in 2011.

The Mirror claim Jose Mourinho planned to bring Falcao with him to Stamford Bridge this summer when he’s finally announced as the new Blues boss, with the two men sharing an agent in Jorge Mendes.

However, it seems the west Londoners have missed out with the report suggesting City have agreed to pay the players £54m release clause and Falcao is understood to have made it clear he’d prefer to link up with Pellegrini at the Etihad Stadium once the Chilean is confirmed as Roberto Mancini’s successor.

The newspaper claims that the arrival of Falcao will see Carlos Tevez leave the club with the Argentine having offers from both PSG and Monaco, while Edin Dzeko may also be allowed to leave this summer.

It would represent a major coup for City if they were able to seal a deal for one of the world’s most sought-after players  and a real boost for the fans after seeing their team fail to defend their Premier League trophy and lose the FA Cup final to Wigan.

But it will be a huge blow to Chelsea if they miss out on the signing of Falcao and it appears they may need to look elsewhere if they want to sign a new striker this summer.

We Chelsea fans cannot be disappointed, like Ranners have said. The price is too much for the 27yr old player.

We need Rooney to play along with Toress.

We are not disappointed,I think E54ml is a huge money for Falcao, but Chelsea can get Lewandowski for E20ml+kelvin de bruyne and E40ml for suarez.

He has already agreed the deal. But wont announce until Pellegrini becomes manager. City wont make the same mistake again to not improve the squad.

Rumor and only rumors.. Falcao is the perfect striker and Chelsea should get it at all cost! I hate to hear from people that Lewandoswki is better.. he is just another Dzeko nothing else.. Lukaku..lets get serious! is funny when all you think about money… who cares is not my money, and if money is not a problem lets get the best! you want to go for the cheap.. for the younger and let them develop.. well wait and wait and don’t expect to win.. see the gunners! all cheap, all young talents and no trophies! but hey they were great value! LoL

What chelsea need is a cock and shoot strike jst lyk cavani or lewandoski and not people who paint ball such as torres before..£54m is 2much for dat old lad{falcao}who we are not even sure if torres wil be better than him..abrahimovic should get 1winger like shurrle or bring back de bryune, and 1 very good striker like wyane rooney, cavani or lewandoski who wil compete with torres who is regaining his way back need of spending huge money on 1striker that might not succed in EPL..chelsea til i die..up blues!

You need Cavani but not an “old man” like Falcao? You know there’s only a years difference between them, right? And only 2 for Lewandowski. Idiot…

Honestly, Falcao is a complete waste of money for 50million pounds, with 27 or 30million pounds we can get Lawendowski and Lukaku, Debryune and additional of Schurrle is too formidable for any team. Ba,Lukaku,Torres, Lawendowski will surely deliver 2trohpies next season if not more.

Is there a way to comment without insulting the player? Falcao is a gr8 lad and I think he likes Chelsea. We must show our support for whoever the club purchases bearing that they are all incredible strikers. Falcao seems to be above the others though.

Chelsea are not in the same league as City as far as money goes, our Sheik makes Abramovic look like he earns paper boys wages. I can see Falcao & Cavani at City next season and we have more valuable stock to sell than Chelsea to help balance the books.

u clearly foreign chelsea fans who have no idea about football have no idea what your talking about. falcao is 1 yr older than cavani and rooney is older than all of them. falcao cavani and lewandowski are better than all of your strikers bar lukaku. dat old man r u f kin serious, falcao has scored 92 goals in 116 apperances for porto and athletico. cavani on the other hand has 112 goals in 200 games and lewandowski has 54 in 92. all you uche’s and akinbani’s who clearly dont know anything about the premier league other than the odd game they catch. look at the stats falcao is worth 50 mil bcos if im not mistaken wasnt torres bought for 50 million. so torres is worth it but falcao isnt…. PLEASE. falcao will come to the real blues next season, cavani will go to real madrid and lewandowski will go to bayern. chelski will buy washed up rooney send lukaku on loan again and u will have a clumsy front three of ba rooney and torres. all you fake chelsea fans learn some stats and wont look like such idiots next time
