Mourinho Ready To Drop Cavani Interest To Land Bosnian Striker

Jose Mourinho has made Man City striker Edin Dzeko his number one transfer target and is prepared to drop his interest in Edinson Cavani in order to land him.

With the summer transfer window now open, there is plenty of gossip doing the rounds in the newspapers so we’ll keep you up-to-date with the latest transfer rumours. Today, Jose Mourinho eyes Edin Dzeko.

Edin-Dzeko-Manchester-City

New Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has made Manchester City striker Edin Dzeko his number one summer transfer target and is prepared to drop his interest in Edinson Cavani in order to land him, according to the Daily Star.

The Portuguese boss returned to Chelsea earlier in the week for a second spell in charge at Stamford Bridge and it seems he’s wasted no time in identifying his transfer targets with the report claiming the 50-year-old has made Dzeko his top priority as he looks for a tall, powerful target man to lead the line next season.

The Bosnian finished as City’s top Premier League goal-scorer last season with 14 goals despite being largely used as a substitute and has netted a total of 30 League goals in 76 appearances since making the move from Wolfsburg in January 2011.

The Star claim City are prepared to sell the 27-year-old this summer for around £20m but the main obstacle for Chelsea is the fact they don’t want to sell to a domestic rival, preferring to send him back to Germany.

However, the newspaper suggests Mourinho is prepared to drop his interest in Edinson Cavani to give the Eastlanders a clear run at the Napoli striker if the Manchester club agree to allow Dzeko to move to west London.

If true, Mourinho looks to be attempting to use Dzeko in the ‘Drogba roll’. Seems weird as we have Lukaku back now and he looks like an incredible player.

Dzecko is a seasonal player and that’s not what we need, we need someone like R. Lewandowsky

Setiment apart i don’t think Dzeko fits into any role at Chelsea. Likewise Cavani. No doubt they are both good players. Cavani is not young for £54m. He will just play at most 3 seasons and £54m is gone. But then we have enough options. The likes of Demba Ba, Lukaku and Torres. Yes Torres. Instead i think i prefer Jovetic to the former two.

Dzeko [27] and cavanni [26] which is older dzeko scores 30 goals in 78 apperances cavanni had 78 goals in almost 102 appearances which is better. But we shouldn’t base our comparism on those fact both of them are good players but I ll prefer a hulk or Lewandowski to lead the line next season if not then I ll settle for lukaku

Dzeko is better and stronger player than Lewandowski. Great with both feet and in the air. I think he would be great signing for Chelsea. Special one knows what players he needs so we should live it to him. Schevcenko was great super star in Italy even better than Cavani is right now and when he came to Chelsea he could not perform at the same level in EPL. We don’t know if Cavani will suceed if he comes to EPL. So I would signDzeko any day.
