My 3 ‘Dream’ Arsenal Signings This Summer

With Arsenal being linked with a number of big-name signings it seems Arsene Wenger is finally going to spend big. ‘Gunner333’ gives us his 3 dream signings.

With Arsenal being linked with a whole host of big-name signings this summer, it seems Arsene Wenger is finally ready to bring some world class names to the Emirates. Here, ‘Gunner333’ gives us his 3 dream signings.

Bastian-Schweinsteiger

As the Summer window begins to hot up clubs are beginning to be linked with exciting players left, right and centre and none more so than Arsenal. Although we have only signed Yaya Sanogo in the window so far, there are still suggestions Wenger is ready to splash the cash. Here I look at three players I’d love to see us sign, but somehow feel they are still out of reach this summer:

Manuel Neuer

This big man between the sticks would almost certainly get us in the top two, single handedly. He has proved himself at both Schalke and Bayern Munich as being a world class talent and has been tipped as the greatest goalkeeper in the world by some. With the German at the club both Szczesny and Fabianski would rarely play as he would certainly cement himself as No.1. However, his large wage demands and the fact he is at the current Champions League holders makes this a very unrealistic transfer.

Likelihood of Signing: 3/10

Bastian Schweinsteiger

Continuing with the Bavarian theme, I see Bastian as another world class talent in a position we still lack that bit ‘extra’. He too is part of the side that won the Champions League and is a Bayern player through and through. There is quality in both the attacking and defensive areas of his game and this would be crucial for us. We have always required a good holding player since Song left and someone who can fill this void but also pop up with the odd goal every now and then would benefit us massively. Any team would want him, but sadly I can’t see him leaving Munich any time soon.

Likelihood of Signing: 1/10

Sergio Ramos

We have certainly had our fair share of defensive frailties but for once I do not feel they come in the centre but at the full back areas instead. Therefore, I believe Sergio Ramos could be played down the right instead, like he did in his early days at Real Madrid. Perhaps a controversial choice, but I still feel he’s a great player and playing at right back would make our defence much stronger. This I feel is a more realistic signing than the previous two but considering he is at the Bernabeu I still find it difficult believe Wenger could prize him away from Spain.

Likelihood of Signing: 5/10

So there are 3 players I ‘dream’ of Arsenal signing. We’re not talking about Messi’s or Ronaldo’s here, as they are beyond the realms of dreaming, but unfortunately I still don’t think we’ll be seeing this trio pulling on the famous Red & White any time soon.
