Transfer News: Eriksen Heading To Liverpool? | Spurs Set To Table £20m Bid

Latest transfer rumours. Today, Liverpool are in the race to sign Christian Eriksen and Tottenham are set to bid £20million for Aston Villa’s Christian Benteke.

With the summer transfer window now open, there is plenty of gossip doing the rounds in the newspapers so we’ll keep you up-to-date with the latest transfer rumours. Today, Liverpool are in the race to sign Christian Eriksen and Spurs are set to bid £20m for Christian Benteke.

Eriksen to Liverpool?

First up and the Metro are reporting that Christian Eriksen will either join Liverpool or Roma if he leaves Ajax this summer.

Eriksen has just one year left to run on his current deal at the Amsterdam Arena and the report claims that the Danish starlet is ready for a new challenge, with reports emanating from Denmark that suggest he’ll join either Liverpool or Roma this summer.  The Italians have also been linked with a move for Arsenal’s Gervinho so if they manage to tie that deal up any time soon, it may leave the path clear for Brendan Rodgers to snap up Eriksen.

It would be a major boost to the Reds if they could land the highly-rated 21-year-old as they recently missed out on the signature of Henrikh Mkhitaryan and with Rodgers keen to add some creativity to his squad, the Danish international certainly fits the bill.

Spurs ready £20m bid

Next up and the Daily Mail are reporting that Tottenham are set to open the bidding for want-away Aston Villa striker Christian Benteke by tabling a £20m offer.

The report claims that Villa have made it clear they will only entertain offers in the region of £25m for the Belgian international – who submitted a transfer request last week.

However, Spurs are said to be confident they can land the 22-year-old for less and Daniel Levy is ready to test Villa’s resolve with a £20m bid after Randy Lerner rejected the possibility of taking any players in exchange.

The Mail suggest Benteke is ready to sign a five-year deal once the two clubs agree a fee and is hoping the situation can be resolved before he’s due to return to pre-season training next week.

If he thinks it is the right time for him to move on in is career so be it. He can’t not remain at Ajax 4rever. The choice is your Eriksen.

If this happened, it would be embarrassing for Spurs.

Where have the creative players gone at Spurs? Only Tom Carroll is creative and AVB never picks him.

Why would Spurs need a player like Benteke who cannot pass the ball? Is AVB only relying on strength and speed? He brings in Paulinho when Spurs need creative players in midfield.

The title of this page is Eriksen is heading for Liverpool! So why does the piece underneath say that he will either join Liverpool or Roma? That doesn’t mean the same as the title!!!
I would love to know where the writer got this story from..l there is no indication of Eriksen going anywhere at the moment however if he did it certainly wouldn’t be the two clubs mentioned.
Let’s look at the facts… Roma where only interested in him due to the then Technical Director Baldini. So with Baldini no longer being at Roma then I would say that Roma are out of the running. Now Baldini is at a club who have had an eye on Eriksen for a number of years. Yes I’m talking about Spurs. Now let’s examine the next piece of evidence… Sourez was part of the Ajax team, yes Eriksen and Sourez were friends, now with Sourez wanting to leave Liverpool it doesnt give a good indication to Eriksen. Now Eriksen’s best friend at Ajax was and still is Jan Vertonghen. Eriksen has stated publiclally that he would love to team up with Vertonghen again. So looking more at the facts I would say that a more likely place for Eriksen to go to is Spurs. This will complete their midfield and they are then just looking for a new left back and two strikers. One being young and willing to improve and then maybe one that is more established . With these additions Spurs may surprise some of the top four…

I´m from Denmark as is Eriksen and I tell you all, that he is NOT good enough for LFC. No real speed, not good setting off opponents and not scoring enough.Just all the forces that Mkhitaryan has!!Scandal we didn´t get him!!

Eriksen I believe is comin over 2 LFC to improve and for now he can’t get a first team shirt… He’s just 21 dere is still room form improvement and also spurs they play fast games,if eriksen is really a good player that wants to improve I think LFC is ur place cos he’s a slow player but very creative and that is what LFC needs not the speed…..
