Interest in Barcelona’s Cesc Fabregas is intensifying with Sky Sports News claiming that Chelsea and Manchester City have joined Arsenal and Manchester United in trying to lure the midfielder back to the Premier League this summer.

Fabregas’s future has been at the centre of much speculation in recent days with widespread reports on Monday claiming that champions United had tabled a £25m opening bid for the 26-year-old.

However, it seems United’s move has alerted their league rivals with Sky sources indicating that Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester City have all now made their interest in Fabregas known to Barca.

While David Moyes men have submitted the first formal offer, it’s Arsenal who could be in pole position due to a clause inserted into the players contract when they sold him two years ago which allows the Gunners first option and to buy Fabregas back at a fixed price of £25m.

Barcelona boss Tito Vilanova revealed earlier on Tuesday that Fabregas had made it clear that he was happy to remain at the Nou Camp, despite the interest being shown in him this summer.

“I’m aware there have been offers, I had a conversation with him and he told me that he wanted to continue here and that he didn’t want to go to another big club. He wants to succeed here.” Vilanova is quoted as saying by Sky Sports

However, Sky Sports claim the midfielder would be ‘open to a move’ back to the Premier League if Barcelona were to accept a bid, as this would be a sign he is no longer valued in Spain.

The Catalans are yet to respond to United’s bid but it’s expected they will be reluctant to sell another creative midfielder so soon after losing Thiago Alcantara to Bayern Munich, but until they release a statement or make their position know, the rumours of a potential return to England will continue and it seems there is plenty of willing takers.
