Gunners To Beat Spurs & Liverpool To Brazilian After Agreeing £21m Deal

Arsenal are set to beat rivals Tottenham and Liverpool to the signing of Bernard after agreeing a £21m deal with Atletico Mineiro for the Brazilian starlet.

With the summer transfer window now open, there is plenty of gossip doing the rounds in the newspapers so we’ll keep you up-to-date with the latest transfer rumours. Today, Arsenal appear to be closing in on the signing of Bernard.

Arsenal are set to beat rivals Tottenham and Liverpool to the signing of Bernard after agreeing a £21m deal with Atletico Mineiro for the Brazilian starlet, according to reports today.

Bernard has emerged as one of South America’s most promising young talents and his reputation increase further after an excellent showing at this summers Confederations Cup where he helped Brazil lift the trophy with some eye-catching displays.

The Daily Star are citing reports emanating from Brazil that suggest Arsenal have now sealed a £21m deal with Mineiro, while the Daily Mail are also suggesting the Gunners have beaten off stiff competition from Tottenham and Liverpool to land the highly-talented winger.

Brazilian reporter Alexandre Oliviera aas been quoted by the Star as saying:

“Atletico Mineiro’s Bernard is going to join Arsenal.”

The newspaper suggests Arsene Wenger hopes the signing of Bernard will kick start his summer spending spree with a big-name striker understood to be next on his agenda. The 20-year-old is a pacey attacker who plays mostly on the winger but can also play in an attacking role in the centre, so he’ll provide Wenger with plenty of options if these reports prove to be accurate.

However, as yet there is nothing official coming from Arsenal so we should continue to treat this news as speculation until told otherwise.

No ambition, agree 100% (unless you count chasing the 4th place trophy).

No money, classic. Ask yourself which club has almost 30% of its shares in the ownership of the RICHEST man in England. Now if you are saying the current owner / board / manager are adverse to the idea of spending………

If Arsenal sign Bernard and we don’t sign Nacer Chadli then I honestly believe the management team at Spurs do not know what they are doing, These 2 players are the best available for signing who can play on the right wing and we need a player in that position if Bale is to continue playing in the center. Another benefit of having Chadli is that he’s very skilful and scores lots of goals.
