Angry Suarez ‘Determined’ To Seal Arsenal Move Claiming Liverpool Agreed To Sell

Luis Suarez is determined to push through a move to Arsenal after being told by Liverpool they would sell him to any Champions League club except Man United.

Luis Suarez is determined to push through a move to Arsenal after allegedly being told by Liverpool they would sell him to any Champions League club except Manchester United, according to the Mirror.

The report claims that Suarez and his advisers met with Brendan Rodgers and managing director Ian Ayre in June where they made it clear the striker wanted to leave Anfield to play in the Champions League.

It’s alleged that the Reds verbally agreed to sell if any big club in the Champions League, including Arsenal, Chelsea, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich, came in with a bid over £35m but they made it clear they wouldn’t sell to arch rivals Manchester United.

The Mirror suggest that Suarez has now been left angry, frustrated and feels let down after Liverpool rejected Arsenal’s £40,000,001 bid and contrary to some reports earlier this week, the Uruguayan is NOT really to take it laying down and is determined to push through a move to the Emirates. The threat of legal action has not ruled out as he and his advisers are adamant the striker should be allowed to move to north London.

Liverpool insist Suarez is not for sale but if the player is adamant promises have been broken, the transfer saga is likely to get messy and the 26-year-old is no stranger to forcing his way out of a club. After taking his case to a Dutch tribunal when he moved from Groningen to Ajax in 2007, he then went on strike to force a move to Liverpool, so you wouldn’t rule out him doing something similar again this time around.

Although verbal agreements are practically meaningless, it’s has been shown in the past there’s little point in keeping hold of an unhappy player so Liverpool will no doubt be praying that Real Madrid or another foreign club come in so they don’t have to sell to a domestic rival. This transfer saga is likely to drag on through August and you wouldn’t be surprised if it went right to the final few days of the transfer window.
