Arsenal Offer Highly-Rated Playmaker Trial Ahead Of Potential Permanent Deal

Arsenal are trying hard to land highly-rated U.A.E playmaker Omar Abdulrahman but his club Al Ain have cancelled a loan that was scheduled to begin on Monday.

With the summer transfer window now open, there is plenty of gossip doing the rounds in the newspapers so we’ll keep you up-to-date with the latest transfer rumours. Today, Omar Abdulrahman is linked with Arsenal.

Arsenal are pushing hard to try and land highly-rated United Arab Emirates playmaker Omar Abdulrahman but his club Al Ain have cancelled a trial that was scheduled to begin on Monday, according to the Mirror.

The 21-year-old burst on to the scene last summer with a string of impressive displays at the London 2012 Olympics and it seems he’s caught the eye of Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger.

The Mirror claim the Gunners had lined up a week-long trial that was due to start today ahead of a potential permanent move but Al Ain pulled the plug at the last minute after interest from several other clubs.

Rashid bin Mubarak Al Hajri, deputy chairman of Abdulrahman’s club Al Ain, confirmed Arsenal’s interest but suggests the Gunners face stiff competition for the attackers signature but they will leave the final decision in the hands of the player:

“Have we had an offer from Arsenal for him to come to train? Then yes.

“We’ve also had offers from Spanish teams, and other teams also, but the player will decide ultimately. We got a lot of offers for Omar. If he finds the right environment, then we will be very supportive.

“It’s a package that will have to be right, where he can improve his football. I’ll leave that for Omar – that’s for him to decide.” Al Hajri is quoted as saying by the Mirror

The newspaper claims the likes of Barcelona, Borussia Dortmund, Schalke and Valencia have all shown an interest in Abdulrahman but Arsenal are believed to remain confident they’ll be able to tie up a permanent transfer after working on a deal over the past few months.

The offer of a trial was seen as a way to assess the youngsters suitability to the rough-and-tumble of Premier League football and to see if the Arsenal coaches thought he would be able to fit in with English culture.

He wouldn’t be that block-buster signing Arsenal fans crave but he’s certainly a huge talent and could be one to watch out for in the future if he does end up making the move to the Emirates Stadium this summer.
