As we enter the final stages of the summer transfer window, there is plenty of gossip doing the rounds in the newspapers so we’ll keep you up-to-date with the latest transfer rumours. Today, Chelsea line-up a shock player swap deal for Luis Suarez.

After seemingly giving up on their pursuit of Wayne Rooney Chelsea are lining-up a shock player-plus-cash swap deal involving Fernando Torres for Liverpool striker Luis Suarez, according to reports on Tuesday.
Chelsea have been chasing Rooney all summer but any potential deal for the Manchester United’s ace appears unlikely now that the striker has decided against submitting a transfer request to force his exit from Old Trafford.
This snub seems to have led to Jose Mourinho looking at other targets and Sport Direct News claims today that the Blues are now ready to offer Liverpool £30m plus former striker Fernando Torres in exchange for unsettled hitman Suarez.
The Reds have so far resisted any attempts to lure the Uruguayan away from Anfield with Arsenal already seeing two bids rejected after Suarez went public with his desire to leave Merseyside in search of Champions League football. Gunners boss Arsene Wenger has recently claimed that his interest in the player is ‘dead’ and he’s moved on to target other strikers.
However, the 26-year-old remains unsettled at Liverpool and this report suggests that Brendan Rodgers may be tempted by Chelsea’s player-exchange offer as it provides him with a ready-made replacement, as well as a sizeable sum to reinvest in his squad before the window closes.
Rodgers men have also coped extremely well during Suarez’s absence – winning five and drawing one of the six games he’s been banned for so far – so it could give the Northern Irishman confidence that their is life without the controversial striker and persuade him to cash-in rather than keep hold of a disgruntled player.
The idea of Torres returning to Anfield is an intriguing one. After making himself a Kop hero, the Spaniard left under a cloud when he elected to join Chelsea in 2011 but many sections of the Liverpool support still hold him close to their hearts and may welcome him back after a failed stint at Stamford Bridge. Whether the 29-year-old would be willing to go back to Liverpool with his tail between his legs is another question though!
We’re into the final week of the transfer window and it’s promising to be an interesting few days. Stay tuned for all the latest transfer updates and gossip.

My fellow liverpool fans?…let’s take this issue lightly.Torres has ones be an heroe at liverpool,.there’s no one who couldn’t be tempted, pls don’t judge him by his mistake.you can also take suarez for example if not because of brendan rodgers and stephen gerrard persuading,he would have long gone by now.he cried out loudly that he wants a move to champions league club..in the second end, fernando torres is still a good creative forward.you can see sturridge how selfish he was when he was at chelsea, but since he came to liverpool, you see wat creative player he his now,i can’t say maybe it’s because of chelsea pattern…if chelsea could offer mata plus $30million,i think that’s ok..we still love you fernando

Why would Liverpool want Torres back? Who makes up this rubbish. Suarez is under contract and Liverpool don’t have to sell him if they don’t choose to, which they certainly won’t for any deal which involves the now very average and ageing Torres. Mata plus cash might interest them. Chelsea fans, before you start your Mr angry rantings – you’re the ones who are after a player, so you don’t get to call the shots. Just remember what a very ordinary club you always were before the Russian cheque book arrived. Anyone can buy trophies by buying every player in sight. You might get some respect in the game if you could show some class like Barca or could generate an atmosphere in your ground instead of handing out free flags to the glory hunting fans who appeared when the cheque book did.

sturridge WILL be enough for us this season, as long as we get the right players around him to supply the right passes (like mata). it would be a bonus if we could get him and a bit of cash

We don’t want suarez anymore since he could nt led lpool 2 cl football…though hez a great player bt let him stay lpool. Eto’o is comin. Torres and lukaku re also there. Chelsea lack just a good striker bt one day wil find one.

Liverpool wanted lucas piazon and still want moses and kenneth omeruo. So they don’t hv choice wen chelsea need any of their player.if they really want 2 keep playerz like suarez, let them stop collectn cheap players on loan. Buy quality player like suarez join him. If nt they must face the same music next summer bcos suarez want silverware like torres did.Torres is a flop bt has achieved since joinning chelsea.
