Predicted Chelsea Starting Line-Up For Fulham Clash

Chelsea welcome Fulham to Stamford Bridge on Saturday evening looking to get back on track after a difficult few weeks. Here’s the team we think Jose will pick

Chelsea welcome local neighbours Fulham to Stamford Bridge on Saturday evening looking to get back on track after a difficult few weeks.

The Blues season has taken an unexpected turn for the worse with the west Londoners win-less in their previous four outings. Following a bore 0-0 draw with Manchester United at Old Trafford, Jose Mourinho’s men lost to Bayern Munich in a penalty shoot-out in the final of the European Super Cup.

Defeat to Everton on Saturday was followed by a shock 2-1 home defeat to FC Basel in the Champions League on Wednesday so Mourinho is expected to rotate his squad once again this weekend.

Up front is a particular area of concern right now with none of the clubs three senior strikers finding the target so far this season. New signing Samuel Eto’o was selected in midweek but Fernando Torres could find himself thrust back into the first team after being left out of the squad entirely against Basel.

Willian also failed to impress on his debut so Juan Mata could come back in while Oscar should retain his place following a goal-scoring display in midweek. Skipper John Terry is almost certain to be recalled as is Ramires after he served his European suspension.

Here’s the team we think Jose might go with:

What do you think? What team would you pick?

  1. Akinwale Taiwo

Where ramires occupied suppose to be lampard not ramires if that happen i think the result would be good to the CFC

  3. Brian Ochieng

    September 20, 2013 at 5:48 pm

He should start Cahill instead of Terry then we shall rejuvinate

  4. Brian Ochieng

    September 20, 2013 at 5:50 pm

I agree wit dis line-up, Terry experience wit Luiz skill and power wil make our defence strong wit iva and cole both on wiing back, Mikel wil give room for ramirez to roam forward as Mikel solid cover for back 4 gud,hazard-mata-oscar is chelsea best pairing behind striker and we hope torres produce his late last season form once again

  7. Kelly

@musa kari pls dnt bring in lampad in dis line-up,cos e is a 4gotten issue.Azbilicueta should have come in inplace of Ivanovic, while Ivanovic/Cahil in place of JT.again,y not gv Mark swarzer a chance$rest Cech.

  10. Monday G

    September 20, 2013 at 6:13 pm

Please ,use two strikers :Eto’o & Torress.Williams,Hazard ,,Mikel,Oscar,Schulle,Cahill, lvanovic,Luiz, & Azplilicueta or Terry should start the game.If this is done,no doubt, the blues will win with not less than three goals. Then during second half, you may bring in Mata,& Ramires.Lampard, should give others a chance to play in that the last three matches he played,he performed below expectation. He shouldn’t be given community chance always.

Will only give this line up a thump-up if azpilipueta is started from the right full back and Mata is give CAM role.
But trust me, as stubborn as Mou is, he won’t use this line up and the formation or anything close
Hope he doesn’t get the sting so soon.

  15. Emmanuel Enabulele

    September 20, 2013 at 7:48 pm

    September 20, 2013 at 8:15 pm

Chelsea’s best lineup 4 nw is Cech;Axpilicueta,Iva,Terry,Luis;Mikel/Ramires,Oscar;De-bruyn,Mata,Hazard;Torres. I tink d nw signings shld b integrated gradualy nd nt surdenly. And 4 dose of u wu wants cahil 2 start @ al curse, go nd check chelsea’s defensiv record b/4 nd after his arrival. No doubt,he’s a gud defender bt u av 2 knw dat he came 4rm a club wu feels conceedin a gl or 2 is normal nd dat is nt d case in chelsea…..A.Cole is nw totaly a flop!!
