Twitter Reacts: Vermaelen, Bendtner, Arteta & More Arsenal Players React To WBA Win

Arsenal beat West Brom last night and Arteta, Vermaelem, Bendtner, Akpom and Eisfeld all took to Twitter to react to the win. See what they had to say here.

Arsenal booked a date with Chelsea in the fourth round of the Capital One Cup with a hard fought win over West Brom last night.

The game went to penalties after it had finished 1-1 following 120 minutes of grueling action, and Nacho Monreal stepped up to score the decisive spot kick to send the Gunners through.

As seems to be the way these days, several players took to Twitter after the game to react to the win. Youngster Thomas Eisfeld made his debut for the first team and he expressed his delight at scoring the opening goal and accompanied his tweet with a photo collage of his big moment.

Young attacker Chuba Akpom came on as a late substitute and capped a lively cameo performance with a well taken penalty in the shoot-out and he called the experience ‘amazing’, while the game also saw Thomas Vermaelen and Mikel Arteta make their first starts of the season and the pair also expressed their delight at coming through the game unscathed.

One of the big talking points was the return of Nicklas Bendtner, who started his first game in Arsenal colours for over two years. After the game, the Dane said his return was ’emotional’ and went on to praise the Gunners fans who supported him throughout the game.
