Arsenal are back at the Hawthorns to take on West Brom on Sunday looking to cement their position at the top of the Premier League table.

The Gunners went through to the fourth round of the Capital One Cup with a dramatic penalty shoot-out win over the Baggies less than two weeks ago and will be hoping to come away with three points this time around.

Ahead of the game, boss Arsene Wenger has given Arsenal.com a team news and injury update with the latest on the fitness of Bacary Sagna, Santi Cazorla and Yaya Sanogo.

Sagna completed the ninety minutes during Tuesday’s impressive 2-0 win over Napoli but it seems he’s picked up a minor hamstring strain during the game and is a doubt for this weekend. Wenger confirmed the Frenchman will have a scan on Thursday and his fitness will then be assessed.

Playmaker Cazorla hasn’t featured since the 1-0 win over Tottenham back on the 1st September and although the Spaniard hinted last week he may return to action against West Brom, Wenger confirmed he’s not in contention and won’t be back until after the international break.

There is some good news on striker Sanogo, with the youngster also edging closer to making a comeback from his back injury and he too should return to action after the forthcoming break.

Here’s what Wenger told the clubs official website:

on the team news..

The only uncertainty we have could be Bacary Sagna who had a little hamstring problem. He has a scan today [Thursday] and from then on we will assess his situation. Everybody else came out of the Napoli game without a major problem so they should all be available.

on Santi Cazorla (ankle)…

He is not in contention. But he could be not far after the international break.

on Yaya Sanogo…

He is on a good way after his back problem. He will be the same, after the international break.

It will be a shame if Sagna is forced to miss this weekends action as the back four have looked solid in recent weeks, but young Carl Jenkinson is more than capable of stepping in if needed.

Cazorla’s return will be a huge boost and I can’t wait to see him linking up with Mesut Ozil. We’re slowly getting our injured players back and if we can just keep the majority of our small squad fit I’m sure we’re in for an exciting season.
