It was another pulsating weekend of Premier League action. Here, Rayyan Dabbous looks over how Arsenal, Chelsea, Man City, Man Utd, Liverpool and Spurs got on.

It was another pulsating weekend of Premier League action. Here, Rayyan Dabbous looks over how Arsenal, Chelsea, Man City, Man Utd, Liverpool and Tottenham got on.

Adnan Januzaj

Manchester City

The Citizens picked up 3 points on Saturday as they ended Everton’s undefeated streak. The Toffees took the lead in the early stage of the game thanks to Romelu Lukaku. An immediate response from Negredo’s equalizer encouraged City to take the upper hand – and that’s what they did as Sergio Aguero scored twice past Everton’s Tim Howard. Manchester City’s attacking force made up for Joe Hart’s mistakes but it is obvious that the Englishman has to prove himself once again worthy for Man City’s No.1 spot.

Liverpool

The Reds enjoyed a 3-1 home victory against Crystal Palace on Saturday as Sturridge, Suarez and Gerrard all got on the score-sheet. The duo of Sturridge and Suarez are proving to be a lethal strike-force and they are certainly a huge threat for any defense in the Premier League. Liverpool have 16 points from 7 games and they are looking to solidify their place in the top 4. The Merseyside club goes into the international break settled in 2nd place and they will be raring to go against Newcastle United in two weeks time.

Manchester United

United have overcame last week’s defeat against West Brom with a 2-1 win over Sunderland. The Black Cats are bottom of the table but there certainly has been some improvement in their team as they were the ones to take the lead on Saturday with a strike from Craig Gardner. The Red Devils were a goal down at half time but two beautiful goals from wonderkind Adnan Januzaj gave United all three points. The youngster had a great United debut in the Premier League and he has even attracted the attention of England boss Roy Hodgson who is interested in recruiting him for the English national team.

Chelsea

The Blues won their first away game of the season on Sunday as they beat Norwich City at the Carrow Road. An early goal from Oscar gave the visitors a comfortable first half but Norwich equalized midway through the second via a Pilkington header. However, Chelsea’s Eden Hazard and Willian both came off the bench to score late goals, with the Brazilian’s a spectacular left-footed strike to seal the win. Chelsea are benefiting from their rotation policy with Jose Mourinho boasting a variety of quality players in the midfield.  If their strikers could just start scoring, they might have a go at the prestigious Premiership title.

Arsenal

The Gunners ground out a point out on Sunday against West Brom. The Baggies were still in confident mood after their tremendous victory against United last week and took the lead just before half time. However, Jack Wilshere scored his first league goal in three years to earn a point which sees them stay at the top of the league heading into the international break. They have a slight advantage over co-leaders Liverpool: having a better goal difference. The London club faces Norwich in two weeks and they could have the likes of Santi Cazorla and Theo Walcott back in contention which will be a major boost to Arsene Wenger.

Tottenham

Tottenham suffered a 3-0 trashing on Sunday at White Hart Lane against West Ham with youngster Ravel Morrison scoring the pick of the goals. This shocking result questions Spurs’ capabilities for the first time this season as they are ousted from the top 4. Of course, Sam Allardyce’s men had something to prove on Sunday as they hoped to be propelled out of the bottom three. However, losing 3-0 at home always brings up questions and AVB will no doubt use this two week break to assess where it went wrong and look to put it right against Villa next time out.
