Julian Draxler has opened the door to a move to the Premier League after naming Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United among the clubs he’d like to play for, according to Sky Sports News.

The German starlet has become one of the most sought-after youngsters in Europe since breaking into the Schalke team aged just 17, and he’s gone on to score 25 goals in 121 appearances as well as force his way into the German national team set up.

The 20-year-old has attracted interest from a whole host of clubs throughout Europe and while Schalke have insisted they are determined to hang on to the attacking midfielder, Draxler has confirmed his desire to play for one of the ‘big clubs’ and named English trio Arsenal, Chelsea and Man Utd among those he’d like to join.

When asked what his ideal next club would be, the youngster said:

“The big two in Spain, Real and Barcelona, Bayern (Munich) and a few others from England, namely Arsenal, Manchester United and Chelsea.

“I owe Schalke a lot, I have always been at Schalke. I need to emphasise this. But I’m not so rooted here that I could not tear myself away.

“I can honestly say that it is my dream to play for one of the big clubs at some point.

“You don’t have to be playing for the very top clubs in Europe to draw attention to yourself, but if you want to achieve the great goals that the world-class players have, then one of them is playing at the biggest clubs in the world.” Draxler is quoted as saying by Sky Sports News.

Arsenal were heavily linked with a move for Draxler during the final days of the summer transfer window before opting to sign Mesut Ozil from Real Madrid, and it seems the Schalke youngster is a huge fan of his compatriot. He added:

“I’ve always said I’m a big fan of Mesut Ozil, who ventured abroad and developed at Real Madrid into a world-class player,”

“Just to be a team-mate of his (with Germany) makes me quite proud.”

A move to one of the European super-powers is inevitable for Draxler. He’s a huge talent and belongs on the big stage but with Schalke on course to qualifying for the knockout stages of the Champions League, any prospective buyers may have to wait until next summer.
