Daniel Agger has tweeted this morning to tell Liverpool fans to ignore talk of a move away from the club by insisting he’s not going anywhere.

The Danish international has struggled to regain his place in Brendan Rodgers first team since returning from injury and has been forced to watch on from the bench in recent games, with his last start coming back in September.

This has led to speculation he could look for a move when the transfer window re-opens in January and the 28-year-old was quoted in the Express on Monday as saying that if he doesn’t start playing football soon, he will leave.

“If I don’t play. If the manager doesn’t think I’m good enough, that could make me leave Liverpool.

“I’m here to play football, nothing else. So if I don’t play football then I don’t want to be here any more.” Agger is quoted as saying by the Express.

However, Agger has now back-tracked on these comments and used his official Twitter account to set the record straight this morning, tweeting to tell fans to ignore the move rumours and insists he’s going nowhere and will be back in the Liverpool team soon.

Agger has always maintained he sees his future at Anfield and only signed a new long-term contract last year. He also famously has YNWA tattooed on his fingers so unless he’s going to join Scottish champions Celtic, it looks like he’s committed to the Reds.

Are Liverpool fans relieved to hear Agger will be staying?
