Tottenham Hotspur take on FC Sheriff at White Hart Lane looking to cement their place at the top of Group K in the Europa League.

Spurs currently sit five points clear of second placed Anzhi Makhachkala so will all-but ensure they finish top with another win tomorrow.

Ahead of the game, boss Andre Villas-Boas has been holding his pre-match press conference and gave TottenhamHotspur.com a team news and injury update.

The bad news is that midfielder Sandro will not play any part in the game. The Brazilian was forced off against Everton on Sunday with a hamstring problem and AVB has confirmed he wont be risked on Thursday.

Winger Nacer Chadli is also missing after failing to recover from a hamstring injury that he picked up in the Capital One Cup clash with Hull City last week, but it’s hoped he could return against Man City this weekend.

Danny Rose remains out as he continues to recover from a toe injury and he joins defender Zeki Fryers on the sidelines. Here’s what the boss told the clubs official website:

“He [Sandro] was substituted with some pain in his hamstring, so we’ve left him out of this game,”

“Danny and Zeki have been making progress and Nacer is already back to a 50 per cent run, so we hope to see him available for selection for the City game.”

Hugo Lloris was knocked unconscious during Sunday’s draw at Goodison Park but Sky Sports report that the goalkeeper took part in full training on Wednesday ahead of the FC Sheriff clash, although it’s likely that Brad Friedel will be given the gloves for the game.
