There’s mixed injury news ahead of Arsenal’s home clash with Fulham on Saturday, here are the latest reports on Aaron Ramsey, Nacho Monreal and Tomas Rosicky.

The good news is that the Daily Mail are reporting that midfielder Aaron Ramsey is set to return to the squad this weekend after a three week absence.

The Welshman has missed our last four matches after suffering a thigh strain during the Boxing Day win over West Ham but it seems he’s now set to return against the Cottagers at the Emirates on Saturday.

There’s no guarantee he’ll come straight back into the side though, despite his excellent pre-injury form, as Jack Wilshere has been putting in some superb displays while he’s been on the sidelines but we’ll have to see what the boss decides.

The club are also expecting some positive news on Nacho Monreal, according to reports. The Spaniard was forced off during our 2-1 win over Aston Villa on Monday night after a heavy clash with Ron Vlaar and Arsene Wenger confirmed after the game that he feared the defender had broken his metatarsal.

However, Goal claim the club are now confident the results from scans will show nothing more than a bone bruise. Let’s hope they are correct as it would be a huge blow to lose Monreal for any extended period. He’s proven himself to be a more than able deputy for Kieran Gibbs and I’m sure we’ll need him during the coming months, so fingers crossed it’s nothing serious.

The Villa game also saw midfielder Tomas Rosicky forced off with a bloody nose after being caught by the elbow of Gabby Agbonlahor in the second half.

You could see there was a cut on the bridge of his nose and it was severely swollen, and Goal claim it is in fact fractured and has had to be reset meaning he’s certain to miss the Fulham game and could be ruled out for a couple of weeks.

It was an unfortunate incident and mid-air clashes do occur, but Agbonlahor led with the elbow and should have been given at least a yellow card. As it was, the referee didn’t even give us a free-kick or stop play to allow Rosicky to recieve treatment. Truly shocking officiating.

Anyway, let’s hope for a speedy recovery because the Czech international has been excellent for us this season. We should know more when Arsene Wenger gives his press conference on Friday.
