Lucci Heading To London For Talks With Arsenal Over Striker Switch

The agent of Mirko Vucinic is heading to London to hold talks with Arsenal over a potential switch to the Emirates after the strikers move to Inter fell through

With the January transfer window in full flow clubs are working hard to try and strengthen their squad for the second half of the season, so we’ll keep you up-to-date with all the latest news, gossip and rumours. Today, Arsenal’s move for Mirko Vucinic is back on.

The agent of Mirko Vucinic is heading to London to hold talks with Arsenal over a potential switch to the Emirates after the strikers proposed move to Inter Milan fell through, according to reports in Italy.

Arsenal were strongly linked with a move for Vucinic over the weekend and the players agent, Alessandro Lucci, was reportedly heading to London on Monday to hold talks with Gunners officials over a potential switch.

But the proposed move fell through before it even got off the ground after Inter Milan entered the chase and Lucci cancelled his planned trip to England in order to hold talks with the fellow Serie A side on Tuesday. A deal was soon agreed and Vucinic seemed set for a move to the San Siro as part of a player swap deal involving Fredy Guarin.

However, sensationally, Inter pulled the plug on the deal at the 11th hour and TuttoMercatoWeb are reporting that the 30-year-old’s agent will now fly to London on Wednesday to resume talks with Arsenal. The report suggests that Juventus may now be willing to listen to the Gunners proposal of a loan deal having previously insisted they would only consider a permanent move.

Vucinic was left out of the Juve squad for their Coppa Italia semi-final defeat to Roma on Tuesday night in order to try and resolve his future, and it seems a switch to north London could be back on the cards.

It’s certainly been a whirlwind few days for the Montenegrin international with on-off moves to both Arsenal and Inter, but I’d be happy if we could bring the player in on loan until the end of the season.

He’s got experience at the top level and will provide an alternative to Olivier Giroud up front during the second half of the season. I don’t think he should be a long-term solution, as we should be going for a higher caliber of player in the summer, but he’d do as a temporary fix.
