Liverpool Blow As Salah Heads For Chelsea Medical After Blues Confirm Deal

Mohamed Salah will fly into London to undergo a medical and discuss personal terms with Chelsea after the Blues hijacked Liverpool’s move for the Basel ace.

With the January transfer window in full flow clubs are working hard to try and strengthen their squad for the second half of the season, so we’ll keep you up-to-date with all the latest news, gossip and rumours. Today, Chelsea have agreed a deal to sign Mohamed Salah.

Chelsea appear to have successfully hijacked Liverpool’s move for Mohamed Salah with the Blues confirming on that they’ve reached an agreement with Basel to sign the midfielder.

Salah has filled the back pages this week and was reportedly off to Liverpool after the Reds came to an agreement with Basel for his signature following weeks of speculation.

However, the deal was plunged into doubt late on Wednesday when reports emerged that Chelsea had made a late move to hijack Liverpool’s deal with Jose Mourinho looking to bring the Egyptian attacker in as a replacement for the Manchester United-bound Juan Mata.

It now seems the west Londoners have pulled it off with the club confirming on their official website that a deal has been reached with Basel and the 21-year-old will move to Stamford Bridge subject to agreeing personal terms and passing a medical.

A statement on read:

Chelsea Football Club can confirm an agreement has been reached with FC Basel for the transfer of their 21-year-old attacking midfielder Mohamed Salah.

The move is subject to the Egyptian international agreeing personal terms and completing a medical examination.

Chelsea haven’t released details of the fee but the Telegraph claim it’s in the region of £12m and the player will now fly into London to undergo a medical and discuss personal terms on Friday.

Barring any last minute hiccups, Salah will become Chelsea’s second big-money signing this month following the purchase of Nemanja Matic from Benfica.

This will come as a bitter blow to Liverpool and boss Brendan Rodgers as Salah could have been the player that helped the Merseysiders clinch a top-four finish this season.

Salah was hugely impressive against Chelsea in the Champions League this season, scoring in both home and away ties, and he’s got a superb goal-scoring record for his country, netting 17 goals in 27 games, so it certainly looks like the Blues have got their hands on another exciting young talent at the expense of Liverpool.

I am sure FSG have only 1 thing in mind: Sell Suarez and the likes, make as much cash as they can and then sell LFC for some more cash!

We blame BR bcoz today he is responsible for this he is taking his time to buy and this is the result. You will see BR will not buy any player and Suarez will leave in the summer. Last year there was the same. the SCOUTS do find best players and Chelsea take the advantage. BR was an EX Chelsea man and up to now he is working for Chelsea. you can clearly see. Moses is playing and he is loaning his players to another club. why to buy when you do not offer them the chance to perform. you make loanee player player and you keep your player not even on the bench. The Owners must look upon it how BR is protecting Chelsea.

Its really a frustrating moment to be a liverpool supporter and I wonder when will the owners learn their lesson. Good players attract many clubs and dont come cheap. Cant we afford 12 million???? We paid 10 million for Borini and 9 million for Aspas.

I wonder what would happen if Suarez was sold last summer..maybe BR and Ayre were already packing their balls out of the KOP.

Don’t worry all my liverpool fans, let forget our hope for top 4 dis season. And let focus on Rodger downfall so another coach can come in that will sign quality player for us bcus Rodger was sent by Chealse to damage all our plan. Give us ROBBERTO MATINEZ/ RAFA BENITEZ .

M̶̲̥̅γ̲̣̣̥ say on this is that Luis Suarez should leave. Liverpool is not acting like they need top 4. What I’m I saying… They should be targeting winning the league. You don’t want to spend but you want to win. Coutinho should also leave please.
