Chelsea play host to London rivals West Ham at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday night with the Blues looking to close the gap on the top two.

Jose Mourinho’s men head into the game sitting third in the Premier League table but are just two points off top-spot so will be ready to take advantage of any slip up from Arsenal or Man City. Ahead of the game Mourinho has been speaking to the media today and gave ChelseaFC.com a team news update.

Fernando Torres remains on the sidelines with the striker still at least two weeks away from recovering from a knee injury, but Mourinho did suggest that young midfielder Marco van Ginkel could play for the Under-21’s later in the season as he steps up his recovery from a knee injury.

Petr Cech will come back into the side after being rested in the FA Cup over the weekend while David Luiz could be deployed in midfield with Gary Cahill partnering John Terry at the back.

Nemanja Matic did well on his debut on against Stoke on Sunday but could be rested for this one as Mourinho may be cautious about over using him so early on in his career at Stamford Bridge.

Here is the team we think Jose will go with:
