Arsenal have agreed a deal with Juventus to take striker Mirko Vucinic on loan until the end of the season, according to reports in Italy.

Vucinic has been linked with several clubs this month and was on the verge of joining Inter Milan in a swap deal with Fredy Guarin before the Nerazzurri pulled out of the deal at the last minute.

Arsenal were also linked with the player a couple of weeks ago and it seems Arsene Wenger could have finally got his hands on the striker with Football Italia claiming that a six-month loan deal was been agreed with Juventus on Wednesday evening.

The report suggests the Montenegrin is expected to fly in to London on Thursday to undergo a medical, however, before we get too excited, the deal is dependent on Juve being able to land Southampton striker Dani Osvaldo.

Osvaldo was suspended by the Saints following a training ground bust-up with a team mate and Sky Sports have confirmed the Italian club are interested in taking him to Serie A.

Whether a deal will be agreed remains to be seen, but it seems Arsenal’s chances of landing Vucinic now depend on how negotiations go between Southampton and Juve for Osvaldo. You’d expect Southampton will be keen on getting rid as the last thing you need is a trouble maker in the squad, but we’ll have to see how things develop over the coming 24 hours.

We’re now getting to the business end of the transfer window and things are heating up. Vucinic would be a useful addition as he’s an experienced striker who’ll give us another option to Olivier Giroud up top, so fingers crossed we can get this one over the line…
