Arsenal are on the verge of making their first signing on the January transfer window with widespread reports suggesting that Kim Kallstrom is joining the club.

News broke earlier this morning that Arsenal were in talks with Spartak Moscow to try and loan the 31-year-old Swedish international until the end of the season.

This news came after Arsene Wenger had confirmed at his press conference this morning he was in the market for another midfield following the news that Aaron Ramsey will miss up to six weeks with a thigh injury.

John Cross at the Mirror newspaper has now revealed that Kallstrom has arrived at Arsenal’s training ground to hold talks over personal terms and undergo a medical. If completed in time, the veteran could be in the squad to face Crystal Palace on Sunday.

The Kallstrom is certainly a shock as he’s NOT the name Arsenal fans had hoped would be arriving today and it’s going to be a huge anti-climax if he’s the only one brought through the door this month.

However, he’s a vastly experienced midfielder and with Ramsey out, Flamini suspended for three matches and Jack Wilshere struggling with his ankle injuries, we could do with another body in the middle of the park. We’ll just have to hope he adapts to life in England quickly and can make a positive contribution.

I am sorry to say that Wenger is a mad man,he is one of the most stupid coach in the world.I dont really know what wrong with this man,the board has accept to pay the 37m release clause for Draxler, but this guy refuse to do what the board want to do.I also blame the board because,if only they want to sign Draxler they should have sign him,and not listen to that selfish man they called their coach.I will be so disappointed if Wenger didnot sign Draxler today.

Please calm down. that is his judgement and you have to live with it. I do agree with him though, that a 20 year kid with potential but no proven ability should not attract outright £37m.

The difference between you and Wenger is that he manages one of the big team in the world and you were not..he have seen and been through thousands of pulsating moments, Asia or Europe where you only able to sees it from your living hall aka TV..So you think you know better than this selfish man and you think you can do a better job than him?
