Tottenham Hotspur are at the KC Stadium to take on Hull City on Saturday afternoon hoping for a win to get their top four hopes back on track.

Spurs slumped to a disappointing 5-1 defeat to Manchester City at White Hart Lane on Wednesday night to leave them sitting in fifth, three points off fourth-placed Liverpool.

The defeat was Tim Sherwood’s first Premier League loss since taking over from Andre Villas-Boas and ended an excellent run from the north Londoners that had seen them win their previous five league games, so they will be keen on bounce back immediately today.

Hull have been on a poor run of late, losing their previous four games, and just one win in 10 has seen Steve Bruce’s side drop down the table and now sit just four points above the relegation zone after a promising start to the season.

The two sides have already met twice this season with Spurs winning 1-0 at the Lane before winning a penalty shoot-out in the Capital One Cup just three days later following a 2-2 draw.

Team News

Hull will have to make do without first choice goalkeeper Allan McCgregor as he’s suspended following his controversial sending off against Crystal Palace in midweek. Steve Harper is the man set to deputise in goal.

Bruce will give late fitness tests to Robbie Brady and Maynor Figueroa with the due expected to be passed fit after recovering from groin and muscular injuries respectively.

Stephen Quinn could replace Jake Livermore in midfield as he’s unable to play against his parent club, but Shane Long and Nikica Jelavic are in line to make their home debuts. However, Sone Aluko remains sidelined with an Achilles problem.

Tottenham have been boosted by the return of Paulinho, Jan Vertonghen and Younes Kaboul after the trio all proved their fitness during friendlies this week.

Andros Townsend [foot] and Erik Lamela [ankle] remain sidelined but Danny Rose is available after seeing his red card rescinded by the FA.

Likely Line-Ups

Key Man

Emmanuel Adebayor: The powerful hitman has been in good form of late, scoring in his last three away games, and we can see him being the key to Tottenham’s fortunes today. If he’s ‘on it’, then Spurs should win this game.

Predicted Score

Hull 1-2 Tottenham: Spurs should have just about enough to head back to the capital with three vital points.
