Tottenham Hotspur take on Hull City on Saturday afternoon looking to get back to winning ways in the Premier League.

Ahead of the game, boss Tim Sherwood has been speaking to the media this afternoon and has given TottenhamHotspur.com a team news and injury update and he confirmed that Younes Kaboul, Paulinho and Jan Vertonghen are fit and available after all returning to training in recent weeks.

Kaboul hasn’t featured for over two months since injuring his thigh against Manchester City in November while Vertonghen has also been out for almost as long with an ankle injury picked up against Fulham on December 4th.

Paulinho is another who’s been on the sidelined for an extended period after suffering an ankle injury following an x-rated tackle by Stoke’s Charlie Adam in late December.

However, the trio played in recent friendlies against West Ham and QPR over the past week and have taken part in full training meaning they are now considered to be in contention to face the Tigers this weekend.

Sherwood told the clubs website that Paulinho in particular has surprised him at how fit he was:

“Paulinho was a real eye-opener in that game, I was was impressed that day and he’s back in contention.”

However, Spurs still have two players currently unavailable with both Erik Lamela (thigh) and Andros Townsend (hamstring) sidelined through injury, but Sherwood also revealed that the duo are edging closer to a return.

“They are not ready yet but getting closer every day,” added Tim.

There was further good news for the north Londoners with Danny Rose available to start against Hull after the FA rescinded his red card from Wednesday’s 5-1 defeat to Manchester City.

Sherwood may decide to mix things up following the loss at White Hart Lane with Vertonghen and Paulinho the most likely to come in, while Roberto Soldado may also be in line for a recall if the Spurs boss opts to revert back to his trusted 4-4-2 formation.
