Chelsea will be looking to keep their Premier League hopes alive when they take on leaders Liverpool at Anfield on Sunday afternoon.

Ahead of the game, boss Jose Mourinho has been speaking to the media this afternoon and gave Chelseafc.com the latest team news including an update on the fitness of John Terry, Eden Hazard and Samuel Eto’o and unfortunately the trio won’t be available to make the trip to Merseyside.

Terry was forced off during the closing stages of Tuesday’s Champions League semi final first leg draw at Atletico Madrid after twisting his ankle and he is certain to miss Sunday’s top-of-the-table clash. There were reports in this mornings newspapers suggesting the skipper could be back to face Madrid in midweek but Mourinho played down those claims, insisting it’s still highly unlikely Terry will be fit in time for the second leg.

Hazard has missed the last three games after limping off against PSG in the quarter finals with a calf injury and the Belgian attackerwill once again miss out this weekend along with striker Eto’o, who has also been on the sidelines recently with a hamstring strain. The Blues boss confirmed he’d have to wait until early next week before assessing whether the duo could be in the frame to play against Atletico at the Bridge.

Midfielder Ramires is also unavailable against Liverpool after being slapped with a four match domestic ban after being found guilty of violent conduct following an incident against Sunderland last week, while goalkeeper Petr Cech will miss the rest of the season after dislocating his should in midweek.

Mourinho hinted earlier this week that he’d be keen to field a weakened side at Anfield, despite still being in with a chance of catching Liverpool. However, the Portuguese coach gave little away about his plans for the game today, saying any team selections discussed will be kept private.
