Liverpool and Manchester United have already held initial talks with Barcelona over a potential €25m deal for Alexis Sanchez but Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is also monitoring the attackers situation, according to reports today.

Sanchez’s future has been thrown into doubt after reports emerged from Chile claiming that the attacker was unsettled at Barcelona due to his frosty relationship with Lionel Messi and he has supposedly instructed his agent to find him a new club.

The Catalans are understood to be willing to cash-in on the 25-year-old as he doesn’t feature in new boss Luis Enrique’s first team plans for his new-look side next year.

However, he’s still a world class player so understandably he’s been linked with a whole host of European clubs. Juventus are very keen to take Sanchez back to Italy but the Serie A champions have so far been unable to agree a deal and the Daily Star claim this has opened the door to English clubs with Liverpool and Manchester United both believed to have opened initial talks with Barca over a potential deal to bring him to the Premier League.

The newspaper also suggests that Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is keeping a close eye on the players situation and could yet make a move for the Chilean international, but any interested party will have to meet Barcelona’s €25m asking price – which sounds like a bargain in today’s market.

Sanchez is currently over in Brazil playing a starring role for his country as they booked their place in the knockout stages of the World Cup with victory over Spain and will finish off the group stages with a clash against Holland later today.

This will give new United boss Louis van Gaal the perfect opportunity to watch the attacker in action with the Dutch coach hoping to make Sanchez his first signing at Old Trafford, and it’s understood he’s left all transfer talks in the hands of vice-chairman Ed Woodward while he fulfils his duties with his country.

Liverpool’s interest has appeared to intensify in recent days with the player being touted as a possible make-weight in a deal that could see Luis Suarez join Barcelona, but I’m sure Brendan Rodgers would prefer to add Sanchez to his squad rather than see him as a replacement for his Uruguayan superstar.

It’s going to be interesting to see where Sanchez ends up this summer and no doubt his price tag may increase the more he impresses at the World Cup, so the likes of Liverpool, United and possibly even Arsenal may want to try and get a deal agreed with Barcelona quickly before they change their asking price.
