Wenger Claims “You Will See A Different Player On Wednesday”

arsenal's cesc fabregas

Arsene Wenger believes Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas will be back to his usual self tonight after confirming the Spaniard is ‘completely free’ of injury.

Fabregas has been dogged by a troublesome hamstring injury for some time and the player himself admitted it was playing on his mind during Saturday’s defeat to Newcastle, which goes some way to explain his poor performance. But Wenger feels he is now clear of the injury and has backed Fabregas to shine tonight:

“He is completely clear [of his injury],” said Wenger.

“It has taken a lot out of him mentally and I believe that the fact he came through well against Newcastle you will see a different player on Wednesday night.”

Let’s hope Arsene is right because Arsenal just aren’t the same side when Fabregas isn’t on form. A third defeat in a row would be a disaster so let’s get back to playing football Arsenal! I’m confident the players will respond and pick up three points. 2-1 to the Gunners!

Are we therefore saying this is a one man team and without him we can`t perform? If this is the case it calls for a major shake up and revised training technique.

This is an insult to all gunners. Cesc should have been off the field after 15 was his total lack of interest and terrible passing that broke down most of our moves and gave Toon hope. He was a disgrace even Eboue would have been better, certainly more motivated. I counted 8 straight moves where AFC had 4 on 4 when the ball came to Cesc and when he did not lose the ball or gave it away he held on and passed way back to the defence. AND worse still our manager watched and watched and watched. What sort of master tactician could not see that the 25 passes per shot does not work anymore and gives the opposition confidence?

I suggest that AW needs a kick up the arse and told to improve or else. His tactics are nil if we dont score first at home. His tactics are weak away ie; just keep the ball…this must have a purpose like an end product. Watch Man U…& Chelski..they can hold onto the ball just as well but they have a determination to score that we dont. We only have a an instinct to entertain and that is not a winning mentality.

I yearn for George Grahams philosophy of ‘ you only beat us by luck not effort’.

Please note that Danish Gooner is employed as a physiotherapist at Arsenal, and therefore knows better than the manager….
