Chelsea take on newly-promoted Leicester City at Stamford Bridge on Saturday afternoon. Here is the starting eleven that Football-Talk predict Jose Mourinho will go with.

Goalkeeper: Mourinho made the huge call to drop long-serving goalkeeper Petr Cech in favour of highly-rated youngster Thibaut Courtois for Monday’s 3-1 win at Burnley and he’s unlikely to change his mind after just one game, so we should expect to see the Belgian keep goal once again this weekend.

Defence: While not underestimating the opposition, Mourinho might see this game as a good opportunity to hand summer signing Filipe Luis his debut, with Cesar Azpilicueta the man to drop out. Branslav Ivanovic showed his threat in the box once again with a goal on Monday so he’ll likely keep his place along-side the solid partnership of Gary Cahill and John Terry at the back.

Midfield: Cesc Fabregas enjoyed an excellent debut against Burnley, grabbing two assist, and despite the return from suspension of Ramires, there’s no reason for Mourinho to break up the exciting partnership of Fabregas and Matic just yet.

Attack: Andre Schurrle grabbed himself a superb goal last time out but the Blues boss might choose to hand him a rest following his World Cup exploits with Germany, which could see Willian come back in to the side along with Eden Hazard and Oscar. The trio could support Diego Costa in attack with the Spaniard expected to keep his place after scoring on his debut last time out.

Here’s how the team could line-up:

What do you think of the team? What side would you select for the game?

Personally it would not surprise me to see Jose bring Ramires in to partner Matic and move Fabregas forward ‘in the hole’ between Oscar and Hazard, just behind Costa. I think Dave will keep his place and depending on how we are doing in the 2nd half he may sub him to give Filipe Luis his Premiership baptism. I think it would be more sensible to move Fabz forward as I’m sure Leicester will try and park the bus and we need someone like him to split their massed defense. Ramires’s engine will be important to both cover their break- aways AND join our countless attacks to make up the numbers with their deep lying numbers. IMHO anyway. KTBFFH

I dont think Ramires will play soon in front of Fabregas because rami has proved that it is incompetent in the role of box-to-box: cant make clinical passes, cant dribble, too slow from the middle. Fabregas is Missing Piece in the middle Chelsea missed last year.

Very stupid idea to even think to see this useless Torres in the line-up. This crap has brought to Chelsea only shame and when one thinks that this lad has 175k per week, it is a complete disaster for mankind. We dont want to see him even on the bench or at Chelsea. Send him out on loan or sell him for £1. Sick of him.

I think Mourinho will still use d team he used against Burnley. The more Chelsea wait for Torres to rediscover his form d more he loses his value. Chelsea should sale Torres and buy a younger back up striker.

I think Ramires have to pair with Matic and move Fabregas to behind Costa with Willian and Hazard on right and left. Also Zuma has to pair with Cahill on centre back and Terry wait on bench. Remember Leicester City use physic and counter atacks that it needs someone who can run. We saw them last weekend playing Everton.Everton struggled last weekend.

Chelsea should drop azicipucelta and give luiz is debut in premier league I agree Chelsea to let go of Torres but let atill givw him is respect it not is fault is didier drogba dat charm Torres remember that he scored 9goals in 8meet with Chelsea when he was in Liverpool and is goal ans effort helped us win the champions league and europa and is working really hard but black magic DD our legend used it too strong and only God that can help him he took spain ro euros xup and contributed to them in world cup cause when defenders and
goal keeper hear that name the panic etc vidic,j.terry,a.cole,kompany, keepers etc cech, casilas, nuere,Valdes, vanderser and alot pls respect el nino thanks

If u are a chelsea fan pls have this at the back of ur mind that toress have caused harm to u, in terms of not delivering when needed as a top 9,becos of this i suggest we let him go at any rate plr mvorinho.

Alexis try to b objective and realistic next time u are commenting. You sounded so sure that Drogba used charm on Torres. Where u there when he did that? Torres has bn given enough chance to prove himself. Why did he miss an open net against united? Under the short reign of Dimatteo, he was playing in front of the creativity of Oscar, Hazard and Mata…he spurned chances upon chances
..even after Drogba left. He isn’t good….though he works hard.

  28. Philip

    August 22, 2014 at 5:22 pm

It’s too early 4 u or any other person to condemn Torres. Aftrward he was a key striker last season fr d Club. He should neither b sold nor allow to b loaned out by Chelsea as he’s going to assist Costa & Drogba up front as d season progresses. UP TORRES!!

    August 22, 2014 at 7:01 pm

Pliz learn to respect, Torres should go but we hv to respect him and value his contribution to Chelsea fc. Remember the champions league. He is no longer good enough for Chelsea but we have to let him go respectifully.

Oh. It’s strange when i remember the Nando i use to knw at LFC. But such is life. I love him torres. He shows his class and dangerousness while taken keepers one on one. I hope you are viewing them nw. So many occations. I respect his qaulity. Though i cann’t just tell where it went wrong with classy El nino. Huh. Cfc has tried for him and we have enjoyed his contributions in the team. I wish him GoodLuck if he wish to leave. Jose who ever you choose to start against LCFC. Am okay by that. They boys are good to go.
