Arsene Wenger Already Planning Stunning €25m Double Summer Swoop

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is already planning for next summer and is eyeing a double swoop for German duo Marco Reus and Sami Khedira, reports in the Mirror

The summer transfer window may be closed but managers are already thinking ahead to future transfer windows so we’ll bring you all the latest news and gossip. Today, Arsenal are eyeing summer raids on Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund.

Sami-Khedira

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is already planning for next summer and is eyeing a double swoop for German duo Marco Reus and Sami Khedira,  reports in the Mirror.

We ended the summer without bringing in the dominant midfielder that many fans were crying out for but it appears Wenger was prepared to hold-out in order to land the player he really wants.

Sami Khedira was strongly linked with a move all summer with the German international tipped to leave Real Madrid after turning down a contract extension offer, and with just one year remaining on his current deal, reports suggested the La Liga giants were willing to cash in for just £12m.

However, a move failed to materialise with speculation suggesting that Arsenal refused to meet the 27-year-old’s wage demands and Khedira is now expected to see-out the remaining year of his deal at the Bernabeu.

The Mirror report claims that Wenger is already lining-up a free transfer move for the midfielder and will be able to hold formal discussions about a move to the Emirates as early as January, with the thinking being that Arsenal will be more prepared to push the boat out on wages now they won’t have to pay a transfer fee.

Khedira could be joined in North London by international team-mate Marco Reus with the newspaper reporting that we will also make a move for the exciting attacker next summer.

It’s been well publicised that Reus has a €25m buy-out clause in his contract that kicks in in the summer of 2015 and it’s been suggested that Arsene has already made it clear to Borussia Dortmund that he’s prepared to match that figure.

I’m sure we won’t be the only club interested in the 25-year-old as he’s one of the best attackers in the world, while several clubs will also be in the running for Khedira’s signature, so Arsene is going to have to be at his persuasive best when he tries to convince them to opt for Arsenal.

However, it would be a major coup for the club if we could pull off the double swoop and to pick up two players of their caliber for just €25m would be sensational transfer business, but there’s a long way to go before they will potentially be rocking up at the Emirates next summer.
