[Photo] Zabaleta Posts Picture Of Diego Costa Grabbing Him By The Throat On Twitter

By on September 21, 2014

Manchester City defender Pablo Zabaleta has taken to Twitter to blast the decision not to send off Chelsea striker Diego Costa during their 1-1 draw on Sunday afternoon.

Zabaleta was dismissed midway through the second half at the Etihad Stadium today after receiving a second yellow card following a late tackle on Costa.

The Chelsea hitman reacted angrily to the challenge, pushing the Argentinean defender before putting his hands round his neck. However, Referee Mike Dean decided against sending him off and City had to see out the final 25 minutes with just 10 men.

It looked like it had cost the defending champions as Chelsea instantly took control of the game and took the lead through Andre Schurrle before Frank Lampard came off the bench to score against his former team and rescue a 1-1 draw for the home side.

Zabaleta took to Twitter this evening to apologise for getting himself sent off but also expressed his disbelief at the referees decision not to send Costa off too, and made his point by posting a photo of the Spaniard grabbing him by the throat.

Here’s a screenshot of what Zabaleta had to say:

It’s no surprise. This is Mike Dean after all. A consistently poor referee.

The bus parker knew he was on to a good thing when he saw that Mike Dean would be playing for Chelsea. Small team mentality Mourinho. When he is not poking people in the eye he is busy begging for UEFA to help him out.

Referee in that game lost control and was just giving out yellow cards any howly.english referees should be critical in big games not to let fans down coz man-city was surpossed to get two penalties but was with a red card instead

It is Hazard that should be apologising after leaving his leg behind for Zabaletta’s first booking.

How sad people can’t be sport-spirited. Zabalatta is displaying such poor character to allege such blatant lie, and about a game sreened to the whole world. He not only stupidly felled costa, he was also the one that grabbed his victim’s neck. All costa did was to snap off his offensive arm,and rightly too. Big up and accept you messed up big time, zab!
