[Video Goals] Liverpool 1-1 Everton: Late Jagielka Stunner Holds Reds

By on September 27, 2014

A late stunner from Phil Jagielka rescued a point for Everton as they drew 1-1 with Liverpool in the Merseyside derby at Anfield this afternoon.

After a goalless first half, skipper Steven Gerrard opened the scoring with a trademark free-kick midway through the second half after Mario Balotelli had been fouled just outside the area.

The Reds appeared to be heading towards another victory over their local rivals but Jagielka smashed home a stunning half-volley from 25 yards in stoppage time to rescue a point for the Toffees.
