Pochettino Makes 2 Changes: Predicted Tottenham Starting XI To Face Chelsea

Tottenham will be hoping to continue their recent good form when they take on Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday night. This is the side I think Mauricio Pochettino will select:

Goalkeeper: Hugo Lloris is one of the best goalkeepers in the Premier League so no doubt he will start in goal for Spurs unless he picks up a late injury before kick off.

Defence: Pochettino will hand a late fitness test to Danny Rose but the defender is expected to sit this one out meaning Ben Davies will continue at left-back. Younes Kaboul was an unused substitute against Everton but even if he’s deemed 100% fit, Pochettinho may opt to stick with the pairing of Jan Vertonghen and Federico Fazio at the back. Vlad Chiriches is a major doubt after being forced off last time out but Kyle Naughton is available again having served a one-game ban. Kyle Walker played for the reserves this afternoon but isn’t in consideration for the first team just yet.

Midfield: Etienne Capoue could be pushing for a return if he proves his fitness ahead of kick off but Nabil Bentaleb may feel a little unlucky if he drops out after an impressive showing against the Toffees, so he could retain his place alongside Ryan Mason in midfield. Moussa Dembele and Paulinho will most likely have to make do with places on the bench once again.

Attack: Andros Towsend is likely to miss out through injury but Erik Lamela may get a recall in place of Aaron Lennon on the right-wing. Harry Kane should keep his place after another encouraging display against Everton, while Christian Eriksen should continue on the left as Nacer Chadli is still not 100% fit. Emmanuel Adebayor is still struggling with a back injury so Roberto Soldado should keep his place up front and will be hoping to build on his goal last time out.

So this is how I think Spurs will line-up against Chelsea:
