Mourinho Makes 6 Changes: Predicted Chelsea Starting XI To Face Sporting Lisbon

Chelsea take on Sporting Lisbon at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday night having already secured top spot in Group G. Here’s our predicted starting eleven.

Petr-Cech

Chelsea take on Sporting Lisbon at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday night with very little left to play for having already secured top spot in Group G. Here is the side I think Jose Mourinho will select:

Goalkeeper: With Chelsea already guaranteed to progress as group winners I think we’ll see Mourinho make a few changes which should mean Petr Cech being given a start in goal.

Defence: The Blues boss has already confirmed that John Terry will be rested so Kurt Zouma is likely to come in alongside Gary Cahill while Filipe Luis may get a start at left-back with Cesar Azpilicueta dropping down to the bench.

Midfield: Cesc Fabregas would usually be handed a rest but with the midfielder suspended for this weekend’s Premier League game against Hull, he’ll most likely start tomorrow. Nemanja Matic sat out of last weekend’s loss at Newcastle so he should be recalled to the starting eleven – although 18-year-old midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek will also play some part in the game.

Attack: Jose has also revealed that Eden Hazard and Willian will be given a breather so Andre Schurrle and Mohamed Salah are expected to come in, while Ramires may get a start in place of Oscar. However, the Chelsea boss has no plans to rest Diego Costa as he’s confirmed the Spaniard will spearhead the attack tomorrow night.

Here is how I think Chelsea will line-up:

What do you think of the team and what eleven would you select for the game?
