Now Eden Hazard Hints At Arsenal Move – Who’s Next?

After hinting at a move to Tottenham only days ago, Eden Hazard has now suggested he may join their rivals Arsenal. We look at this on-going transfer saga.

The transfer window has been closed for little over two weeks and already we’re talking about that man again….Eden Hazard.

The Belgian’s future has filled the gossip columns for months with Arsenal, Chelsea, Man Utd, Man City and Tottenham all linked at one stage or another (source: Daily Mail). However, he still remains a Lille player but already we’re discussing where he may be going in the summer.

Only two days ago the 21-year-old was quoted by the Daily Mail as saying he would like to play in England next season, and hinted that he could be set for a move to Tottenham. When asked about a possible deal with Spurs, Hazard said:

‘I have not signed anything at Tottenham.

‘Maybe I will play there next season. It is a nice club with a lot of good players and absolutely a top coach. ‘The transfer is still pending. I have not signed anything yet, but I hope it will happen in the near future.’

‘The opportunities would be much smaller. The competition would be strong at Tottenham too, but less so that at Barca or Real.

‘I think I can learn the most in England. You play a big game every week and the atmosphere is great.’ Hazard said in the Daily Mail

However, today we’ve seen another twist as Hazard has now been quoted by ESPN as saying he could be interested in a move to Tottenham’s North London rivals Arsenal.

When quizzed about the Gunners interest, the Belgian highlighted their style of play as being an attraction as well as the fact there is a heavy French influence, and his Belgian team mate Thomas Vermaelen, at the Emirates.

“There are several clubs that interest me in England and Arsenal is really a part,”

“Of course, it’s always more fun when the football is beautiful. In addition, at Arsenal, there is a French coach and French players, as well as my compatriot Thomas Vermaelen.” Hazard said on ESPN.

It seems to me the guy is simply trying to generate interest in himself by openly speaking about potential clubs to the press, in the hope it starts some sort of bidding war. He clearly doesn’t have a preference and it may just come down to who offers him the best contract when he does eventually move on.

My guess is, next week he’ll be discussing Man Utd or Man City as his ‘dream club’ before subtly hinting Chelsea could be a good move for him, but then refusing to rule out Spurs or Arsenal!

He’s obviously keeping his options open, just sit back and enjoy the circus because this transfer saga is only going to get worse as the summer approaches.
