United Close On Exciting Dortmund Midfielder Despite Chelsea Interest

By on April 27, 2012

With the summer transfer window just around the corner, we’ll aim to keep you up-to-date on all the latest transfer news involving Man Utd. Today sees the Reds linked with an exciting attacking midfielder.

Shinji-Kagawa

Manchester United are closing in on the signing of Borussia Dortmund midfielder Shinji Kagawa, according to talkSPORT.

Kagawa is one of the most exciting talents in the Bundesliga and has seen his stock rise considerably since his move from Cerezo Osaka in 2010. The attacking midfielder has netted an impressive 21 goals in just 47 games for the newly-crowned German champions and has become an integral part of the Japanese national side.

talkSPORT cite reports coming out of Germany that are suggesting the 23-year-old is ready to end his spell with Dortmund and despite interest from Chelsea, has his heart set on a move to Old Trafford.

Kagawa will enter the final year of his Dortmund contract in June and the club are willing to cash-in now and avoid losing the player for nothing next summer. The report claims that Sir Alex Ferguson is confident of sealing a deal this summer, after tracking the midfielder over the last year.

Theres only one reason why united would buy this guy over the other better players out there and that reason is where hes from! Its business first at old trafford now and the football takes a back seat! Makes me sick! Sort it out fergie!! Like the “fans” commenting above, i bet not one of you is from england let alone manchester! “fans” like you give other reds an unwanted “glory hunters” label. Not on!

Get a grip mate, don’t know what world your living in, but every top football club nowadays is a business first, they have to be.

Also clearly you haven’t watch this guy play, because he is quality! So get off your high horse and actually watch football rather than slate non mancs for following utd, it’s pathetic

Spot on Redrum. I watched this player torment Bayern only a few weeks ago, he’s quick, creative and energetic, i’d be deligthed with this signing!!

While signing a player from emerging markets is indeed good business, it most importantly has to be good ‘football business’! Any suggestion that Manchester Utd are signing players based on their post code is just nuts, i think what their global fanbase are looking for is top players and that is exactly what Shniji Kagawa is!

Ggmu is spot on ,utd only looking at this guy for oriental revenue, whats the betting utd do a tour of japan next season if they get him?
as for these so called utd fans who can’t even spell old trafford?..get lost and go and support a team from your own country , its bad enough at OT already, you rarely hear a mancunian accent!….

No u shut ur trap rexyrocks, u moron! Firstly park is from south korea not japan. Im not sayin that all asian players cant play football, im sayin there are better players in dortmunds own team, let alone the rest of the world! Gotze is better and younger, hazard the same, lucas moura the same! Its a pessimistic view i know but its true. I kno football is a business but when it comes to buyin players you should go for the best, not the one who could sell the most shirts to an untapped area.

Im Manc born & bred & now live about a mile from the Mecca. Everyone is entitled to their point of view wherever they’re from – the banner on the Stretford End says that I’d say – “One Love”. The “bad name” you talk of is only ever created by jealous haters so don’t knock our fans wherever they are, knock the tits who come up with the shit. He looks a good player to me as long as we get a 2nd midfielder too as we need 2. Common Reds! Let’s root for the boys on Monday at the Emptihad!

he should stay well clear of the mancs.the japanese are honourable people and the mancs will only teach him to dive and cheat to win penaltys like theyve done with ashley young, rooney ,valencia, hernandez, nani and the list goes on.
