Liverpool beat Southampton 1-0 at Anfield thanks to a Daniel Agger header just before half time.

The home side were in control throughout and should have scored several goals, with Uruguayan striker Luis Suarez once again at the centre of Liverpool’s best attacking play. The winning goal came just before the break when Glen Johnson’s cross found Daniel Agger who found the top corner with a terrific header.

The win moves Brendan Rodgers side up to eleventh, just seven points off third-placed Chelsea. Watch highlights and the goal below.
