[Video Highlights] Besiktas 1-0 Liverpool (1-1 Agg): Reds Crash 5-4 On Penalties

Liverpool crashed out of the Europa League 5-4 on penalties after drawing 1-1 on aggregate with Besiktas in Turkey this evening.

The Reds went into the game holding a 1-0 lead thanks to Mario Balotelli’s late penalty at Anfield last Thursday and things were going according to plan as the second leg was goalless at half time.

However, with 20 minutes remaining the home side drew level on aggregate when Tolgay Arslan curled home a superb effort from the edge of the area to make it 1-0 on the night.

Neither side could find a winner in extra-time so the tie went to penalties and after seeing all nine spot kicks converted before him, Dejan Lovren was the villain as he blazed his effort over to send Liverpool crashing out 5-4.
