[Video Goals] Tottenham 3-2 Swansea: Townsend Scores Fine Winner For Spurs

By on March 4, 2015

Tottenham kept up with the top four with a hard fought 3-2 win over Swansea at White Hart Lane on Wednesday night.

The hosts opened the scoring early on as Nacer Chadli’s cushioned volley made it 1-0 in the 6th minute but the Swans levelled things up in the 19th minute when Ki was on hand to slot through Hugo Lloris’s legs from a tight angle.

Tottenham restored their lead just after half time when Ryan Mason raced through to smash high into the net and it was 3-1 shortly after when Andros Townsend scored a fine solo effort to curl home and give the hosts a two-goal cushion.

Swansea ensured it would be a nervy final few minutes as former Spurs midfielder Gylfi Sigurdsson fired home in the 88th minute but Spurs with-held some late pressure to secure a vital three points.

The win ensures Mauricio Pochettino’s men keep pace with Arsenal, Man Utd and Liverpool after they all also picked up wins on Wednesday night.
