Several Manchester United players have been celebrating on Twitter after their hard fought 2-1 victory over Liverpool at Anfield. See what they had to say here:

Manchester United secured a hard fought 2-1 victory over bitter rivals Liverpool at Anfield this afternoon to cement their place in the top four of the Premier League table.

Juan Mata proved to be the match-winner as the Spaniard opened the scoring in the first half with a well taken strike before doubling United’s advantage with a stunning scissor-kick shortly after Steven Gerrard had been sent off for the hosts.

Daniel Sturridge pulled one back with 20 minutes to go and although Wayne Rooney missed a stoppage time penalty, United held on to seal a vital 2-1 win that sees them move five points clear of Brendan Rodgers’s men in the table.

The result means United are firmly in the frame to qualify for the Champions League next season so it’s no wonder the players were in high spirits after the game, with several of the players taking to Twitter to have their say on the result.

Phil Jones, David De Gea, Daley Blind, Marcos Rojo, Ander Herrara, Michael Carrick, Marouane Fellaini, Ashley Young and Juan Mata have all taken to the social media site to celebrate United doing the double over Liverpool.
