Transfer News: €26m Attacker Snubs Liverpool In Favour Of Chelsea Move

Liverpool have been dealt a blow with Dynamo Kiev attacker Andriy Yarmolenko favouring a move to Chelsea if he decides to come to the Premier League this summer

As the opening of the summer transfer window approaches, managers are working hard identifying targets and lining-up potential deals so we’ll bring you all the news and gossip. Today, Andriy Yarmolenko snubs Liverpool….

Liverpool have been dealt a blow with Dynamo Kiev attacker Andriy Yarmolenko favouring a move to Chelsea if he decides to come to the Premier League this summer, according to reports.

Yarmolenko has been strongly linked with a move away from Kiev over the past two years with Liverpool believed to have failed with a deadline day bid back in the summer of 2013.

The 25-year-old has continued his excellent form for the Ukrainian outfit and with 15 goals and 19 assists in 30 appearances so far this season, it’s easy to understand why he’s attracting interest from the likes of Valencia, Roma and PSG.

Reports in recent weeks have suggested that Brendan Rodgers is ready to renew his interest in the €26m-rated attacker as he looks to strengthen his squad this summer, with the Merseysiders looking destined to miss out on the top four following recent defeats to Man Utd and Arsenal.

However, it seems Liverpool are set to miss out again as the Express claim that Chelsea are also keen on signing Yarmolenko and the player has decided he’d prefer a switch to Stamford Bridge over Anfield should he decide he wants to come to England.

That isn’t to say Chelsea have the move tied-up though, as the newspaper states that the Ukrainian international has narrowed his options down to either the Blues or Valencia, so he’ll now decide between moving to Spain or England.

Yarmolenko is a hugely exciting talent so it would be great to see him come to the Premier League but with the attacking talent already available to Jose Mourinho, he may struggle to force his way into the Chelsea starting line-up.

Therefore, if it’s regular first team football he’s after, the attacker may feel a switch to Valencia is better for his career but we’ll have to wait and see what he decides and how things develop over the coming weeks.
