[Video Highlights] WBA 0-0 Liverpool: Ibe Goes Close As Reds Held By Baggies

By on April 25, 2015

Liverpool’s hopes of breaking into the top four were dealt a huge blow after being held to a 0-0 draw away at West Bromwich Albion this afternoon.

The first half was largely a forgettable affair with neither side able to create any clear-cut goal-scoring opportunities. Emre Can’s speculative long-range effort was just about as good as it got.

The Reds dominated for much of the match and had the better chances to open the scoring after the break, with Jordan Henderson denied from close range early in the second half after Philippe Coutinho’s effort was parried by Myhill.

Youngster Jordon Ibe then came closest to finding a way through as his effort cannoned off the bar while West Brom forced a goal-line clearance from Dejan Lovren at the other end.

However, neither side could find a breakthrough and it ended goalless at the Hawthorns, which leaves Liverpool sitting fifth in the Premier League table and six points adrift of fourth-placed Manchester City with just five games left to play.
