The battle for fourth place is back on after West Bromwich Albion stunned Manchester United with a hard fought 1-0 win at Old Trafford this evening.

The hosts enjoyed the vast majority of possession and created the better chances but it was the visitors who eventually broke the deadlock as Chris Brunt’s free-kick took a wicked deflection off Jonas Olsson on it’s way past David De Gea to make it 0-1 in the 63rd minute.

United were gifted the perfect opportunity to level things up when Saido Berahino handled in the area but Robin van Persie saw his resulting spot kick well saved by Myhill.

The Baggies keeper then produced a magnificent save right at the death to deny the Dutchman again as West Brom held on to secure back-to-back victories at Old Trafford.

The loss leaves United sitting fourth but are now just four points ahead of Liverpool after their 2-1 win over QPR earlier today, so the race for fourth place is still on with three games remaining.
